Proofreading of your thesis.

Bilingua is a translation office for Zagreb and all of Croatia that has proofread bachelor's, master's, doctoral and seminar theses in Croatian and English since 1994. The proofreader corrects spelling, grammar and style, keeps terminology and citations consistent and returns the thesis in Word with tracked changes, remotely, without a visit.

Send the thesis by e-mail or through the form together with your submission date. After a review we send a quote with the price and deadline, and proofreading starts once you confirm. The content of your work stays confidential.

what it includes

Work ready for defence and publication.

Proofreading covers the whole thesis, from the title page to the bibliography: spelling, grammar, punctuation, style and the clarity of each sentence, consistent specialist terminology, and references and citations that follow your faculty's guidelines.

We also check chapter headings, tables, footnotes and numbering, so the work reads consistently from the first page to the last.

The content, argument and conclusions remain yours. The proofreader does not change the meaning or structure of the work, only the language, and every correction is visible in Word, so you accept or reject it yourself.

types of work

Bachelor's, master's, doctoral and seminar papers.

We proofread bachelor's and master's theses, doctoral dissertations, seminar and professional papers, research articles, abstracts and defence presentations.

Theses written in English, and English abstracts, are proofread by a native speaker of English. Besides Croatian and English, proofreading is available in German and the other European languages we offer.

how we work

From enquiry to a proofread thesis.

1. Enquiry. You send the thesis in Word by e-mail or through the form, with your submission date and the faculty's citation guidelines.

2. Quote. We confirm the price and deadline after reviewing the work, based on the number of standard pages (1,500 characters with spaces).

3. Proofreading. The proofreader refines the text with tracked changes and comments and keeps the specialist terminology consistent throughout.

4. Delivery. You receive the proofread thesis by e-mail within the agreed deadline, with tracked changes and comments.

Frequently asked questions

Have any questions?

We price each thesis from the work itself. The calculation is per standard page of 1,500 characters with spaces, and the amount depends on the length of the work, the language and the deadline. Once you send the thesis, the quote states the exact price and deadline, and proofreading starts only after you confirm.
The deadline depends on the length of the work, its subject and how specialised the text is, and on your submission date, and we confirm it in the quote after reviewing the thesis. Longer and more demanding works, doctoral dissertations for example, need more time. If your submission date is close, say so in the enquiry and we will tell you whether urgent proofreading is feasible.
No. The proofreader corrects spelling, grammar, style and the consistency of terminology, but does not change the meaning, argument or structure of the work. Every correction is visible in Word through tracked changes, so you decide what to accept. The content remains entirely yours and we keep it confidential.
Yes. English abstracts and whole theses written in English are proofread by a native speaker of English, with a check of the specialist terminology. The same applies to German and the other European languages we offer. State the language of the thesis and of the abstract in your enquiry so that the right proofreader is involved from the start.
Send the thesis in Word by e-mail or through the form on the Contact page, together with your submission date and the faculty's citation guidelines. Everything is arranged remotely, without a visit. You receive the proofread thesis by e-mail, with tracked changes and comments, within the deadline confirmed in the quote.
