About us

From conference halls to court records.

Bilingua is a translation office established in 1994. Our founder and managing director, Sanja Lokner Lađević, mag. philol. angl. et germ., is an accredited simultaneous interpreter for the institutions of the European Union — the European Parliament, the Council of the EU, the European Commission and the Court of Justice of the EU — as well as a permanent court interpreter for English and German. …

We work with a network of experienced translators and native speakers of the target languages. Every translation includes proofreading, editing, and stylistic and terminology checks, we honour agreed deadlines, and for confidential materials we are glad to sign a non-disclosure agreement. We also work remotely (online), for clients across Croatia and abroad.

Have any questions?

Yes. Bilingua arranges certified translations by permanent court interpreters appointed by the Croatian Ministry of Justice. The translation is bound to the source document and carries the interpreter's seal, signature and certification clause, making it valid before courts, notaries and public authorities in Croatia and abroad. Documents can be sent as scans by email.
Yes. Send your enquiry and the document through the form on this page or by e-mail. We reply with a quote stating the price and deadline, and prepare the translation after your confirmation. A regular translation is delivered by e-mail or handed over in person by arrangement. A certified translation with the seal is sent by post or collected in person.
A non-certified translation is sent by e-mail in the agreed format, or in print on request. A certified translation is a physical document with the court interpreter's seal, signature and binding: we send it by post or arrange personal collection, and can e-mail a digital copy for review.
Written translations, interpreting (simultaneous, consecutive and whispered), certified translations by court interpreters, localisation, and proofreading and editing, in more than 25 European languages, for companies, EU institutions and private clients.
We price each job from the material itself. Written translations are calculated per standard page, in Croatia 1,500 characters including spaces, or per word, and the amount depends on the language pair, subject matter, certification and deadline. For interpreting, the price depends on the duration and type of event. The exact amount comes in a quote after we review the material.
