jurisdiction and recognition

Norway and the Scandinavian market.

Certified translations are accepted by Norwegian authorities and employers. For less common language pairs we arrange certification through authorised court interpreters, with an Apostille where required.

before you send

What to prepare before certification.

A clear scan or photograph of each document is enough for a quote: every page, including the reverse side where it carries stamps or annotations.

Tell us which Norwegian institution will receive the translation, as this determines whether an Apostille or additional certification of the original should be arranged before the translation begins.

Norwegian is one of the languages we arrange through our network of authorised permanent court interpreters, so we confirm every detail with you before the work starts.

Once the certified translation is bound and stamped, changing a date or a name means reissuing the document, so a short check at the outset saves everyone time.

Frequently asked questions

Have any questions?

If a Norwegian authority, employer or professional body asks for an official translation of certificates, diplomas or police records, you will normally need a certified translation from an appointed court interpreter. Bilingua arranges certified Croatian to Norwegian translations through its network of appointed interpreters. For internal or informational use, an ordinary translation is usually sufficient.
Yes. Bilingua prepares quotes for certified Norwegian translations from a legible scan or photograph of the document. Send each page, including the back of any page that carries a stamp or annotation, together with a note on which institution in Norway will receive the translation. The office replies with a quote as soon as possible, and the original can be presented later if required.
It depends on the receiving institution. An Apostille confirms the authenticity of the signature and stamp on the original document and, where required, should be obtained before the certified translation so the interpreter can translate it too. Bilingua recommends checking the requirement with the Norwegian institution first. The appointed court interpreter then translates and certifies the document together with its Apostille.
