For the Swedish pair, the documents most often certified are employment paperwork, proof of professional qualifications and personal documents. The full certification procedure is described on the court interpreters page.
Sweden and the Scandinavian market.
Certified translations are accepted before Swedish authorities and employers. For less common language pairs we arrange certification through authorised court interpreters, with an Apostille where required.
Apostille and legalisation, explained.
An Apostille is a standardised certificate that confirms the authenticity of a public document's signature and seal, so that the document can be used abroad.
It relates to the document itself, not to the quality of the translation, and it is obtained from the competent authority separately from the court interpreter's certification.
Whether a Swedish institution wants an Apostille at all, and whether it should be attached before or after translation, varies from case to case.
Our advice is simple: ask the receiving institution in Sweden what it expects, then send us their answer along with your documents and we will follow that order precisely.
