Whispered interpreting.
Whispered interpreting (chuchotage) means the interpreter sits beside one or two listeners and quietly interprets in real time.
Bilingua provides whispered interpreting in Zagreb and across Croatia when only part of the audience needs the translation — with no booth and no interruption to the event.
Chuchotage, without equipment.
Whispered interpreting (French chuchotage) is a sub-type of simultaneous interpreting: the interpreter sits very close to the listener and conveys what is said in a low voice, without a booth.
The voice must be loud enough for the listeners to hear, yet quiet enough not to disturb the other participants.
One person or a small circle.
Suitable when most participants understand the language and only one or a few of them need the translation.
When another method is better.
For larger groups, simultaneous interpreting is more suitable. Whispered interpreting (chuchotage) is possible only for a very small number of listeners.
